Definition

The product code is the identification of an ornamental horticulture product registered with Floricode with a Floricode product code.

With feature types and feature values a batch of ornamental horticulture products are further specified by the supplier and trader during the trading phase.

Through the 'Regulations' that the industry uses it is garanteed througout the complete supply chain that a batch of an ornamental horticulture product is specified with the correct characteristics.

This whole process is called the 'LINNAEUS model' in ornamental horticulture.

How to use

In all phases of the trading process, (offer, order, delivery and invoice), ornamental horticulture products must be identified by their product code and specified with the required and advised feature types in accordance with the established Regulations.

How to obtain

The codes can be obtained via:

• FTP as CSV file
  The codes are packed into CSV files and then compressed.

• REST JSON API
• The data can be requested and searched via an API.
  This way, ad hoc specific codes can be requested or validated.
  Or, the latest data (mutations) can be queried and one's own database can be updated.
