Definition

The Global Product Classification (GPC) code is the identification of a class of ornamental products that belong to each other based on taxonomic grounds and coded with the international GS1 GPC classification code. The GPC codes are issued by GS1 and Floricode maintains the classification of ornamental products in combination with the own product coding.

How to use

The GPC odes are used mainly in the data exchange with retailers to classify ornamental products. Retailers use these GPC codes mainly in their sourcing processes.

How to obtain

The codes can be obtained via:

• REST JSON API
• The data can be requested and searched via an API.
  This way, ad hoc specific codes can be requested or validated.
  Or, the latest data (mutations) can be queried and one's own database can be updated periodically.
