Floricode manages master data
Floricode manages many data sets for floriculture. We do this together with interested parties and users. Our data are so-called "master data"; these data are the key data about floriculture products, companies, and articles. Every day the data from these files are used by growers, buyers, auctions, carriers, and others when exchanging digital orders, deliveries, and invoices. After all, an order contains data about the product, the characteristics, the packaging, the producer, the supplier, the loading and unloading location, and so on.
Floricode distributes master data
Floricode makes this master data available to its users via various data sets. The method of data distribution is developing very rapidly with modern IT. Users also want to have access to the most up-to-date and complete data sets faster and preferably- daily. Floricode is now responding to this by disclosing the master data via APIs. This makes it possible to make the updated data available to users on a daily basis: "anytime, anyplace, 24/7 online".
Intellectual property rights, usage rights and API access
Floricode makes data available to participants in the floriculture sector, such as growers, buyers, transporters, auctions, and software suppliers, via datasets and API services. Intellectual property rights of Floricode and—where applicable—of its licensors or suppliers rest on these datasets and accompanying documentation. This concerns, in any case, copyright on the documentation and on the manner in which data has been selected or organized, and database rights on the datasets, because Floricode and/or its licensors have invested substantially in them. This means that the content may not be freely copied, reused, or further distributed as if it were rights-free. Legal action will be taken for violation of this.
In order to make legal use of this as a participant in their own systems and for their own business operations, the participant must first conclude a license agreement with Floricode. Upon entering into this agreement, Floricode provides the participant with the access details (client credentials) for the API services. With this API access, the participant can retrieve, process, and keep all relevant data up-to-date in their own software and systems, such as the daily update of the complete Linnaeus dataset.
Most software suppliers in the floriculture sector have, moreover, built features into their software applications that allow access to Floricode's API services. However, a condition for this is that users of those applications must separately conclude a license agreement with Floricode for this purpose. The Floricode license therefore grants permission to use the data within one's own organization, but does not transfer any copyright or database rights to the participant/user.

Your API subscription with Floricode
End users (such as growers, buyers, transporters, auctions) take out a licence agreement and an API subscription with Floricode. You can specify exactly which data sets you will use. Various rates apply, depending on the size and importance of the relevant data set. Ask us about the current rates. As soon as you have taken out a subscription, you will receive a username and password from Floricode with which you can access the relevant data sets. You can then apply this data to your own business without restrictions.
