Definition

The identification of the color of a flower and of a leaf of an ornamental product is coded as follows:

• classification according to the VBN (Union of the Dutch auctions) main color (11 colours)
• classification according to the UPOV (International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants) (50 colors)
• classification according to the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) (969 colors)

Aside from these codes, Floricode adds ther corresponding RGB values to every RHS color code.

How to use

Users can use this set of color codes to display the color of any ornamental product in their systems that allow users to make the the desired selections. With the corresponding RGB values, the correct color can be displayed on the screen.

How to obtain

The codes can be obtained via:

• REST JSON API
• The data can be requested and searched via an API.
  This way, ad hoc specific codes can be requested or validated.
  Or, the latest data (mutations) can be queried and one's own database can be updated periodically.
